Big Slate Media is a Knoxville-based content creation agency specializing in video production and digital marketing. We provide full-service organic social media and website content management, digital marketing strategy, email marketing, copywriting, graphic design and paid campaign management.
Internship deets:
This is a semester-long internship program during the Fall 2026 semester for aspiring professionals interested in social media, content creation and digital marketing. You’ll work a minimum of 15 hrs per week and, most importantly, you’ll be doing real work that supports our team and clients.
Your day-to-day may include:
- Assist in organic social media management for clients (including creating social media graphics, writing captions and other copy, scheduling posts, responding to messages, outbound engagement, and more;
- Create and edit social media content that is on-brand, polished and ready for client review;
- Assist with content calendars, brainstorming and social media strategy;
- Serve as a Production Assistant (PA) on video shoots, as needed;
- Assist with email marketing and other digital marketing projects;
- Complete administrative and organizational tasks that help keep our team and clients moving;
- Look for ways to contribute without always waiting for someone to assign a task.
We don’t wanna BS you; we’ve got some dirty work that needs to get done, too—building spreadsheets, petting Stamper (the best boy), and washing Jess’s car (not really). However, you’ll have the chance to gain a real, working knowledge of the digital marketing industry by supporting all aspects of what our content creation agency does on a daily basis and working across a variety of clients and projects.
The work schedule is flexible based on your availability and our needs; however, we do require a strict 15-hour minimum of availability during a typical work week (8:30 AM – 5 PM; Mon. – Fri.) We will want a “regular” schedule, so we can count on you for certain days.
What’s in it for you:
- Paid internship;
- Opportunity for class credit, if applicable;
- Gain valuable hands-on experience in digital marketing and social media management;
- Occasional travel for client shoots or events;
- Opportunity to earn commission on sales generated;
- Opportunity to connect with clients and learn essential business operations;
- Relaxed, casual work environment;
